Pietro d'Abano and translations of Galeno
Pietro d'Abano translated from Greek into Latin six operettas of Galeno: De marasmo, De atra bile, De inaequali weather, De bono corporis habitu, De optima corporis our constitutione, De parvae pilae exercitio. Also completed translations greco-latine made by Burgundio da Pisa De sectis and De method medendi of Galeno. These translations of Pietro d'Abano were listed by Lynn Thorndike in an article of 1942 and subsequently studied by Marie d'Alverny in an article of 1985. I intend to return to the subject and present some contributions about the fortune of translations of Pietro d'Abano in printed editions.
