He began his studies in musicology from 1990 at the University of Pavia: School palaeography and philology musical (See in Cremona) then carried out (with complementary subjects: English literature and philosophy) at the Albert Freiburg (Germany). After graduating launched in 1997 its search doctorate in musicology changed since 2000 in an interdisciplinary research at the Institute of Philosophy at the University of Freiburg. In 2003 he obtained doctorate in philosophy and musicology, with the interdisciplinary thesis: Musik und Wirklichkeit. Philosophische und musikanalytische Untersuchungen zu Luigi Nonos Auschwitz-Kompositionen im Ausgang von Theodor W. Adornos ństhetischer theory has been professor of music aesthetics at the Musikhochschule and at the Albert Freiburg and 2004 is a researcher at the department of musicology of the same university. It is preparing a thesis on the empowerment of the fourteenth century Italian music.
